Shuowen
经. The silk radical (纟) combined with 巠, which depicts vertical threads stretched on a loom—originally meaning the warp, the lengthwise threads through which the weft is woven. This image of threads running straight and ordered led to extended meanings of "to pass through," "to manage," and "constant principle," eventually becoming associated with classic texts that set the standard.
