What we collect

We keep things minimal. You can use Etyma without signing in.

  • Anonymous visits do not require an account; we do not collect identity information for browsing.
  • When you are not signed in, your "learned" list is stored only on this device (e.g. in your browser's local storage).
  • When you sign in, your learned list is linked to your account and synced to our servers (Supabase) so you can see it on other devices.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Third-party services

We use a small set of services to run the product. All are used only within the scope of this privacy policy and applicable law.

Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting), and optional analytics (e.g. Vercel Analytics or Plausible) for anonymous usage metrics.

Core reading and learned-list features remain usable locally even if a third-party service is temporarily unavailable.

Storage, retention and security

Account and synced data are stored via Supabase. Where applicable, we use regions that meet our data-residency and compliance needs.

We keep your account and synced data until you ask us to delete it.

We use HTTPS for all traffic. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth. Data access is isolated with row-level security (RLS) so users only see their own data.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you and request deletion of your account or learned data.

You can request deletion by contacting us (see Contact below) or, when available, via the "Delete account" option in account settings. If that option is not yet available, we will process deletion requests sent to our contact email.
