体tǐ

體 (tǐ, "body") preserves an ancient insight: the left side is 骨, meaning bone, while the right component echoes the body's physical form — a character that literally means "the framework of bones that makes a person." The simplified 体 replaces this with 人 (person) + 本 (root), shifting the emphasis from skeletal structure to the person as the root of existence. Both forms carry the sense of substance and wholeness, the physical vessel that contains spirit.
