品pǐn

Modern simplified form (簡體). 品 (pǐn, "article, product, quality") remains unchanged from traditional, composed of three 口 (mouth) symbols stacked together — visually suggesting multiple voices discussing or evaluating goods, hence its meaning of "to sample" or "grade." It appears as a component in 器 (qì, vessel/utensil) and gives the character its sense of assessed quality.
