山shān

Modern simplified form (簡體). 山 (shān, "mountain") is identical in simplified and traditional — a pictograph so precise that three thousand years found nothing to improve. It serves as the radical in 岭 (ridge), 峰 (peak), 岛 (island), 崖 (cliff) and many more.
